I was born in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas. So, I am a Native Texan and proud of that fact. I am over 81 years old, the Lord willing, I will try for 90. The Lord has blessed me with 5 children, some 17+/- Grandchildren and 18+/- Great Grand Children at last count (lost count) since. My roots are strong and the future still looks bright thanks to the Lord. I joined Wikitree believing that this is the best place to put 30 years of research online. I have entered much, but much is left to do. Since much was given me by cousins from the family branches and, I prefer they add their data themselves for security. This said I still have added branch connections to my branch of the tree. Living people are carefully added with as little detail as possible. Ancestors and kin who possibly have reached 90 are listed with an estimated death date. I apologize to the ones still living, but where death is not known, it was the best data route.

It would be nice to list all my descendants, but not practical to do so. My descendants are at last count: 5 children; 17 plus or minus GrandChildren; yy? Great Grandchildren, I have and would like to invite all my kin to join me here on Wikitree.com. Only requirement is an email address. It is free to visit here and if you agree to be a good researcher (genealogist) you can be a full member

Fifth graders now have the class on Social Studies where they are asked to bring a list of their close kin. If you have a child younger, they soon will ask about their roots. How much you know will help them make an 'A' high mark.

I retired as National Genealogist from Clan Cunningham International. I still consider myself as a researcher for Hempel lines. I can trace mine back into 1658 Germany where the records are limited. I have been given much on other Hempel lines across the USA and the complete record from the book on Polish Hempels. In the later ones dates are very limited to allow matches. They left overseas for many different reasons to find a new home in locations around the world. Note: X and Y numbers above varies and can increase again within the next 10 years., so I leave that to fate.

It's time for the One Place Studies Project Check-In!

We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.

If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.

My name is Scott Hendricks (Hendricks-964). My great grandfather Franz "Frank" Starzinger was baptized in Altmünster Pfarr, Römisch-katholische Diözese Linz, Oberösterreich, Österreich - He died in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa USA. We have been able to develop several generations of Starzingers in Oberösterreich. These are recent developments after 50 years of searching for our Starzinger roots

I am interested in joining the Austria Project - I don't know of anyone else at this time who is following Austrian ancestors - If I need to lead the Project - even if temporarily (my wife has a severe TBI and I am her full time caretaker) I would be willing to do so - It depends on how her health holds out.

Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have yet to hear back from you. I hope you are well.

If I don’t hear from you in the next week or so I’ll assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Kylie :-)

Hi Jon,

On behalf of the Germany Project, I am currently undergoing our member check-in's and wanted to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. We also ask that you check your follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions please ask. I would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project!

Please respond by private message. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi, Jon

The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.

We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:

  • Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
  • Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.
  • Encourage bloggers to blog about societies and the resources available to them on WikiTree.

Are you interested in participating in some way? Do you have some ideas to share?

Azure Rae ~ co-Leader of Ambassadors Project
