Should Mary Hogue/Houge, Wife of Mark Hardin, Be Renamed Unknown?

Question

A previous question asked if there was evidence for Mary Hardin's Last Name At Birth (LNAB). SEE: G2G.  By family tradition, she is given the LNAB of Hogue/Houge/Hogge/Hogg/Hoge, etc.  There appears to be no supporting evidence for this tradition. 

We need to merge two Marys.  I propose to change the LNAB of one of the Marys to Unknown and merge into that one.  A note would be put in the Bio acknowledging the family tradition, and Hogue, Hogg, and Hoge would be added as Other Last Names, shown as speculative or unproven.

Shall I proceed? Does the Southern Colonies-Virginia Project have anything to add?

Vic, instead of changing one of the LNABs to Unknown see if you can find an existing recycled unknown to use (there's a category) and merge both into that one. That way we start chipping away at the pool of unknowns. Sorry for the mixed metaphors.

I have now made Mark's wife Mary Unknown and reassigned all the children to her.  I detached Mary Hogue as wife of Mark Hardin, but I left her attached to father William Hogue, as he may have had a daughter Mary, and I didn't want to remove her. Notes were put on profiles to show that wife Mary's maiden name is unknown and she has been put in the Unknowns Project.  The merge originally proposed between the Mary Hogue and Mary Houge profiles has been reproposed between Mary Unknown and Mary Houge.
