Need HELP! Who are the parents of William Carroll Lane?

Question

Been working on this one for a long time. Who are the parents of William Carroll Lane (Born 26 Sept. 1819 Tennessee & Died 26 July 1874) He is Buried in Peters Creek Cemetery, Hardin Co.,Il. He married Jane Belt before 1843. Their children are Talitha Cuma, Mila, John Henry, Mary A., Evaline Avarilla, Jas., Hiram J., Ann J., Isabell, and Charles Lane. The Avarilla and Hiram names came from his wife's family.

On Ancestry there is another William Carroll Lane, also Born abt 1819 in Tn. but he died in 1854 in Arkansas. His Parents were Ranson Lane & Nancy Hall. Ranson also died in Arkansas. I believe several trees on ancestry are wrong. I think people just copy off of each other without facts.

Anyway I was thinking that my William Carroll Lane & the one in Arkansas could be 1st cousins, because of the same middle name.

Hi John, According to Larry A. James, "The Lane Family: Maj. Samuel Lane and His Descendants" William Carroll Lane, b. 1821 in Warren County, TN was s/o Ransom Lane and Nancy Hall; Ransom was s/o Aquilla and Agnes Fitzgerald Lane; Aquilla was s/o Rev. Tidence Lane and Hester Van Bibber. Hope this helps.

I have looked into William Carroll Lane son of Ransom. He went to Arkansas, Where my William Carroll Lane was in Southern Illinois until he died in 1874.I do think that they are related. Thank You for trying to help.
