Ancestors of Thomas Daniel Quinn and wife Anne (nee Murphy)

Question

Any information about ancestors of Thomas Daniel Quinn and wife Anne (nee Murphy) who baptized their daughter, Bridget, on 25 April 1852, in Barnan, District Daingean, Roman Catholic denomination, County Offaly.        They all departed from Plymouth 1st December 1853 on the ship Sir Thomas Gresham, for Port Adelaide, South Australia where they arrived on 19th March, 1854.

The microfilm of the original parish registers for Daingean are online at:

I had a quick look and found the christening of Bridget in 1852.  The parish registers head back to 1795 for Christenings and 1820 for marriages.

You may have to wade through page by page (yes, the old fashioned research method) and have a basic understanding of Latin, but, if the family came from this area then you are in good fortune.

Thanks Dale.  I found Bridget's baptism in the Daingean original parish register.  No luck yet for Thomas Daniel Quinn and Anne Murphy's marriage or baptisms.

No problems at all, Patrick.  I did not see them either, but.....I only had a quick look.  Did you note the little map on the right hand side when you are at the landing page for Daingean?  I have used that to know which other parishes to search for other queries.  Perhaps just wade through the surrounding parishes for the marriage, and/or Daniel and Ann's christenings.  Good luck!!
