What she needs to do is order a DNA test for the possible princes in the tower:

Keep us posted on the progress and outcome. Fascinating!
I love it. Appreciating that the Her Majesty cares about correct order in lineage and the hierarchy. (I say this in light that the Stuarts claim to fame is that the last two Plantagenent Princes disappeared from the tower, most likely murdered; cementing Stuart rule in England.) A happy happy ending to all in this case. Fun to think that a bad bun in the oven will be undone and a true heir decided. Not that one man or the other is a better or worse man, or more deserving in any other way. I love it!
She could, but she wont.

Oh, this is rich. Our favorite family tale, told frequently over Sunday dinners, was that we were secretly descended from the Stuarts. In which case, I'm willing to share title to Balmoral Castle, though the upkeep and taxes should continue to be paid by its present occupants, the Queen and her family.

Personally, I prefer the family tale that we are descended from Hansel and Gretel. Though a trifle more speculative, establishing that "fact" through DNA would be one for the books. Grimm, truly grimm.

I jest. But you knew that.

No chance I'm afraid.  Apparently Prince Albert bought the Balmoral site and built the house in the 1850s.  It's Victorian fantasy - steel girders and stone cladding.  And it's the Queen's personal property.
Curses, foiled again!
Balmoral is not the personal property of the Queen. It is held in trust by a number of gentlemen on her behalf. There is a legal difference.

Some people in Scotland want the Queen to "give up" Balmoral but as she technically doesn't own it, she can't.
She's the Queen.  She can do what she likes.  Her ancestors had guts.  If you didn't do what they wanted, they had your guts.  Slowly drawn out and burned before your eyes.
