Does the male name Magel have an English equivalent?

I have a Magel Snaterly / Snoterly / Snaderly who I believe married Hannah Fonteyn /  Vantine. However, aside from two New Brunswick 1st DRC records, I have no other information about it. I may not be recognizing the name if it translates very differently.

Like Snoterly wasn't distinctive enough, right?

Thank you!

Thanks! I was looking at Michaels, too!

Several New Netherland men had the name Machtelt. I've seen it rendered as "Melchior" (I don't know if that counts as anglicized or latinized or what, however!). Having seen many interesting renderings of names in old DRC records, I wouldn't be surprised if Magel is another spelling for Machtelt.
