I'm exploring at present, adding on all the relations I can connected to notable Robert Johnson wherever they happen to lead. It's an interesting exercise, mostly involving emancipated slaves & their progeny, located mostly in the Mississippi Delta - Mississippi, Arkansas & Tennessee (Memphis.) In doing so, I've come across a more-complicated-than-usual Census record.
My entry point is Ora B. Lee, b. 1894 d. 1978 (Lee-13639), who married a man named John Winston in 1909. The 1900 Census, when she is 6 years old, finds a household of 13. I'm OK with the 9 people listed through Emma Green, one of the wife Narcissa's children from a previous marriage. What I don't quite understand are the 4 siblings listed in the last 4 entries.
-- John Lee b. Sep 1876 in S. Carolina, head of household
-- Narcissa Lee b. Jan 1867 in Tennessee, wife. (Married for 4 years; she - at age 33, almost a decade older than her husband - had 8 children surviving of 11, so certainly married previously.)
-- Ora Lee b. Aug 1896 in Arkansas, daughter (she's already married in 1910)
-- Ben Lee b. Dec 1897 in Arkansas, son
-- Ura Reveley b. Jan 1884 in Tennessee, stepdaughter, married (husband not part of household); presumably LNAB is Green
-- Lenora Reveley b. May 1900 in Arkansas, stepdaughter (but presumably Ura's daughter, actually, so step-granddaughter)
-- John L. Green b. Jan 1887 in Tennessee, stepson
-- Zacharias Green b. Jun 1892 in Tennessee, stepson
-- Emma Green b. Mar 1894 in Tennessee, stepdaughter
-- Andrew Warren b. Sep 1884 in Arkansas, brother
-- Joe Warren b. Aug 1887 in Arkansas, brother
-- Ester Lee b. Sep 1883 in Arkansas, sister
-- James Lee b. May 1890 in Arkansas, brother
I've tried searching for Narcissus Warren, thinking the two Warrens might be her siblings rather than her husband's, but without results yet. I do think that's the best possible explanation for this array of characters, since everyone fits in that way, but I'm interested if anyone has a alternate explanation.
