NAB is not the name they used most of their life or the one people would be looking for.

Dealing with a family of Russian-Jewish immigrants. They were given Hebrew names at birth, immigrated to U.S. and eventually became known by an Anglicized version, sometimes, but not always, similar to the NAB. Which name should I use as "Preferred" and "Name at birth." Want to avoid duplicates caused by others using a different name when setting up profile.

You put the Hebrew name as their LNAB.  Then you put the Anglicised version in the 'Current Last Name' field.  That way, they will be found by searches under both names.
