Hi Michael!  Welcome to the G2G forum!  Is it this Doctor Brown? https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Brown-48702

If so, it would be really helpful if you could edit your question to include the Wiki ID: Brown-48702  in the field for that near the bottom of the question box.

That way, those of us who want to help can quickly see how much has been done already, and also the functionality of WikiTree will link the question right on Dr Brown's profile, so future visitors to the profile will be able to view whatever info this discussion generates...

Cheers

Done...thank you for that!

I suspect those different census records are for different Charles Browns. It is a very common name, and it's unlikely that someone will tell consecutive census-takers that their birthplace was a different state.

You might want to match his profile to the familysearch record for him: 293H-2ND

The 1860 and 1880 Census records both say his birthplace is Pennsylvania and his parents were born in New Jersey.

I added his marriage and probate records to his profile.
