Is there a cemetery report for finding FG memorials that there is no WikiTree profile for?

I used headstone photos to research and create profiles for a local cemetery, and presume there could be folks buried there that I did not find a headstone for. Found a couple hidden in the bushes and wonder if there are more, so thinking a report listing who is missing could be useful.

If you have WikiTree BEE, there will be a button that says WikiTree on a Find A Grave memorial/profile.  So, in theory, if the button is not there, there probably is not a WikiTree profile.

This video short shows what I am talking about.

Edit: This is not updated instantly. So if you create a FG Memorial and WT Profile, it will not be an instant link (where the WT button shows).

That will be a challenge, opening each FG memorial to see if there is that button, and seems it is only there if FG has been included as a source on the profile. I looked at several FG memorials that there are WT profiles and there is no button, because unfortunately, I did not add FG as a source if I found  FS census, birth, death, marriage etc, records.  I think I only added FG if the profile was weak on other records.

In this same vein, you can also use Sourcer to search for profiles on WT citing that memorial. You'd click Sourcer and click Search WikiTree > Search for WikiTree profiles with a template referencing this record.

It has the same limitation you noticed, though.

In case you decide you'd like to go back and add the FG memorials, here's some profiles that don't cite the FindAGrave template. (You will probably need to click "Get profiles" for it to load fully. Note, results update each Tuesday.)

No, there is not a WT+ cemetery report going the opposite direction from the existing cemetery reports. Sandy's method in this thread is probably the most technologically advanced at this time.

I've previously used a different browser than my usual and just gone memorial-by-memorial. I say a different browser because it'll be one I don't care terribly much about, and I can clear the history to reset the "visited link" color status.

Thanks for the reply Jeff.  I will probably just compare the lists for each, maybe one letter a day. and try to find those I missed using headstone photos.  There are 100+ more FG memorials than headstones I found and created WT profiles from.

Will also work on adding FG as a source to the ones that I did not when I created the profiles.  i see there is a report listing those that I can work from

This might help:

1) Bring up tabs for Find-A-Grave (for a specific cemetery), Wikitree (Category->specify same cemetery), and a second Wikitree tab so you can search if the Wikitree profile already exists). If the Wikitree Cemetery does not exist, after you have created the first profile, you will need to request the cemetery Category be created.

2) View the memorials at the cemetery you have chosen. For the sake of sanity, start with the first memorial provides fairly complete dates. Search on Wikitree for that person. If not found, go on to create the profile on Wikitree using the following as your first source (that you will replace with the Family Search Citation when it is available).

URL:https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/205754475/walker-thunder

you will then create the profile and add some biographical information if any is available on FG.

Since Wikitree does not  recognize FG as a great source for several reasons, always go to Roots Search which is a link under RESEARCH on the wikitree profile page.

3) Understand that it is easier to find sources for people born before 1950 as that is the last census that has been released.

4) Add the sources you choose and add the cemetery Category or request one be created.

Please note, the information from the church or cemetery sextant is always more desired than the Find-A-Grave information.

Also, Wikitree is a wonderful community. We want to encourage new genealogists to join and to learn and others who have more knowledge than ourselves to add to the profiles.

Embrace collaboration.

Like this you can use WT+ to see if a memorial is linked from a profile. If you have a list of memorials from FG with IDs, you could use Excel or something to build WT+ search urls.

Thanks for the tip Florian.  Think I will start the search by simply comparing the WikiTree category page for the cemetery with the FG list of memorials in the cemetery. Have found and added profiles for a couple that I had missed on my walk about taking headstone photos years ago.
