Would you add in a cemetery category given that no Find A Grave memorial? There is a Veterans Burial Card?

I have typically not added a cemetery category to a person unless a Find Grave memorial was made for him or her already.  Several times, including this profile, I have proof of the cemetery but no memorial was ever made.  Should I add him into that category (St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania) or should I work with Find A Grave to get a memorial identified and created?

Hi Gurney!  Like Lucy said, if you have proof, I would go ahead and add him into that category.  And, if you don't find their memorial on Find A Grave, you absolutely should add it!  Not only will that help others researching the same person, but it could connect you with some long lost family!  Go to https://www.findagrave.com/contribute and click Add a Memorial.  Then add what information that you have.  You can even add a request through there for someone local to the cemetery to upload a pic of the grave if available.  I hope this helps!

I wouldn't recommend worrying about what is on Find A Grave. If you have a good source for a burial, add the category. If you like, you can go ahead and create the memorial on Find A Grave yourself.

By all means add them to the Cemetery Category.  Find A Grave and or Billion Graves are not the end all be all for location of interment. About the only data I trust from those sites is the location of their grave and what ever the grave marker says.

I have used VA Burial Card Records, Pennsylvania Veteran Burial Cards and Death Certificates when an associated Find A Grave Memorial is not available and add them to Find A Grave as well.  I do include on the Find A Grave Memorial where I found the data.  Though rare, I have found a Find A Grave Memorial with photo(s) to be a different location than those found on the above mentioned records.  Nothing is perfect.
