How to add a source reference of a vital record

I have acquired vital records for ancestors in preparation for a DAR Application.  Do you recommend adding them to the online profiles? If so can you point me to an example of how?

If I understand your question, then I would make two suggestions.

Examples of how to format a citation can be found here. The format depends on what is being cited.

At WikiTree, we favor in-line citations. The how to do that can be found from any of your profiles. Go to the profile, select the Edit tab, and then on the right side (on a desktop) you will see a section "How to Add Sources" which shows you the simple code to use to make your citations (in the form from the first suggestion) inline. Just below that it will also show you "How to Add Links" which can be very useful if you can add the link the original record in your citation.
