Have you ever wanted to create a nice visual collage of yourself with your immediate paternal or maternal ancestors - see where that Roman nose came from, how that curly hair was passed down through the generations?
Well ... now you can with the newly created Photo Lines app!
Start by (1) entering your WikiTree ID, then (2) customize the settings to get the exact layout that you want.
Finally, (3) copy the WikiText that is created by the app, and paste it into your WikiTree profile (in edit mode) - SAVE - et voilà - a nice new addition to your Biography!
The app uses the profile pictures attached to your direct ancestors. Don't have a profile pic for great-grandpa? Now would be a great time to search for one!
Here are some examples created by playing with the various settings of the app from my own family:
You can see that you have total control over how many generations you show, names, dates. I've also included a COMBO option so you can start with your self in the middle, and see the effect of BOTH direct lines.
I've also included an option to show silhouettes of ancestors without profile photos - that way you can see all your direct ancestors in a row, if you want, regardless of their photo-status.
NOTE: If your parents or grandparents have private profiles on WikiTree, their profile pictures may also be private. Click on the FAQs button at the bottom of the app to find one way to include their picture, assuming they're OK with it.
Enjoy!
