Mayflower Decendency

I am a descendent of multiple Mayflowers.  This question is solely about my Stephen Hopkins line though your answers probably should apply to all Mayflower families.  Note in my case for Stephen Hopkins I have been using this source:  https://pilgrimhopkins.com/lineageHome.php?pafg93.htm#5426

I assume this is based on the five generations volumes of Mayflower descendants.   The line in particular at this URL is:

2958. Josiah Hopkins  (Sylvanus , Judah , Stephen , Giles , Stephen )

was christened on 28 Jul 1754 in Harwich, MA.

He died on 18/17 Oct 1824 in [Cornwall, CT].

Josiah married Anna Peirce on 1 Aug 1776 in Cornwall, CT. Anna was born on 5 Dec 1756 in Cornwall, CT.

Now in wiki tree, Stephen, Giles,  Stephen -- the first 3 generations say Project Protected.   Also note that they have tags that let people know they are associated with the Mayflower.

The next 3 generations:  Judah, Sylvanus, Josiah are not protected and have no tags.  If these men all represent known descendants ( 5 or so generations) I would think they should be tagged at a minimum.   I could figure out how to tag them on my own even if I am not their administrator.  However, I wondered if these generations should also be project protected.  Not knowing, I decided not to try to edit them until I knew the official policy on the Mayflower project team.  If thy should be protected, then tagging shouldn't happen without first asking.  Thoughts?

He was born after 1700, so he's not covered by the Mayflower Project

Thank you for replying.   I

If 1700 is the cut-off year, that eliminates Josiah (b. 1754) and his dad Sylvanus (b. 1716). However, one more generation back is Judah (b.  1677).   Should Judah Hopkins be in the protected project?

On the topic of the tags, should those too be limited to the scope of what is in the wikitree Mayflower project?

Note, Judah Hopkins has a tag already, he just isn't part of the protected project status.

Judah Hopkins is already managed by the Mayflower Project. Not all Project Managed Profiles are protected. But all protected profiles are Project Managed. Protection is determined by the history of changes on a profile where erroneous relationships have been or might be added.

We don't add stickers or project boxes (what you're calling "tags") beyond the pre-1700 profiles, but if you'd like to add a statement at the top of the profiles that you manage, that's fine. The usual is something like this:

Sylvanus Hopkins was a descendant of Mayflower passenger Stephen Hopkins.

Time to add more well-sourced profiles/generations to your tree to connect yourself to the others, since only 4 are currently shown as your ancestors (the rest are cousins or connected in some other way):
Jack Hilton's Connections: Mayflower Passengers

If you wish to join the General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD), you must prove your connection to at least one of those aboard the Mayflower in 1620. General instructions are here: https://themayflowersociety.org/join/join/

I highly recommend using their Lineage Match service which helps in determining what you need to do. You may only need to provide "proof" for a few generations if your line has already been partially accepted through another application. Also, the first few generations after the Mayflower voyage are generally already recorded and proven (in the Silver Books), so you most likely will not have to provide proof for those. To find out more, contact your local society historian here.
