Mayflower Descendants.

Susanna Ring the daughter of Deborah Hopkins and Andrew Ring is listed in Mayflower births and deaths (Roser) without the name of a husband.

William Walker, son of William and Sarah Snow, is listed in the same book as married to Susanna _______

There isn't a marriage record and Andrew Ring's will (1691) just calls he Susanna.

Is there some evidence that  they married? Are there sources (good and bad) that list them married? The bad so we can evaluate.

Both profiles could use some better information. Do we have some Snow and Walker knowledgeable persons to help out?

I'm thinking if we can't come up with something better, that Susanna should be two people, Susanna Unknown Walker and Susanna Ring.

I disagree with arbitrarily creating a "second" Susanna Walker. Although not a published source, David Kew's "Nauset & Vicinity" web site and profile series are a well-researched and largely-accurate source for these families and this time and place (Nauset was the original name for Eastham on Cape Cod that the Snow, Walker & Hopkins families + others founded ca. 1645).

In the interests of "collaboration," I proposed marking Susanna's parents as "Uncertain" and possibly adding a paragraph to her profile indicating that her maiden name of Ring is not recognized by the author of "Mayflower Families" etc.

The Hopkins, Snow, and Walker families were all very-closely related at this time and place and no other contemporary "Susanna" has ever been proposed as William Walker's wife.

Thanks Chet. That's just the kind of input I'm looking for. Hope the question gets some more great answers and comments
Hi Anne

I have made the changes I recommended on Susanna's profile and Becky removed its PPP status.  Hopefully this will be what you want.
ok, that works for me
Thanks, Anne - can we close this thread now ?
