confused with syles I think

Question

Hi, I'm completely confused. How do I use the numbers for sources and references? e.g ogy".^[1] S  -- that number. Does anyone have a page I can learn this on? 

I have looked but can't find something I'm not even sure what it is called. I've put the WikiTree id of on I saw with the use of this hopefully it will let you understand what I am trying to learn  -  Braben-14

I think you might mean <ref>.... insert source here....</ref>  this will then create a link to a source for the information and the source will be under sources and numbered
