Hi,

I  am trying to add links to a family member and despite having a go, I'm still a little confused.

Can someone give me an example?

I'm trying to write that

Janet was born to McDougall-547 and McCallum-571

How do I make this happen?

Thanks

Elayine

Hi Elayine. Try this:

Janet was born to [[McDougall-547|Donald McDougall]] and [[McCallum-571|Christian McCallum]].

Note that Christian may not have taken her husband's surname. Many Scottish women of the time did not do so.

Thank you Jim,

now the thought that many Scottlish women didn't take their husbands name is a little disconcerting

I thought the parents name automatically appears on the children's profiles when the parents are added??  Seam to find them there next time I look and I haven't put in any effort.

I do like the Scottish way, usually after 1855 I can find a married women's death cert. under birth and married surname.
