Yes he did.
I read the research notes and I looked at all the sources.
There is no doubt your conclusion is correct.

Also, adding one more piece of evidence:
In Soldatregistret he has the patronym "Gustafsson" which is correct, since his father's name is Gustaf Henrik Blåfield.

Search: Soldatens namn: "BRUS Johan Jakob"

Centrala Soldatregistret

Also, searching for his soldier farm, (soldattorp):
https://www.soldatreg.se/sok-soldat
Search: Rote: "Lilla Rocklunda"

That gives a long list of soldiers, all named Brus, from 1687 to 1810. This proves this was a long tradition, if you took over the soldier farm Lilla Rocklunda, you took over the name Brus.
Birth place.
Rytterne parish is right next to Munktorp parish.

He was born in 1772 at Ekeby (Stora Ekeby, Herrgård/Säteri) in Rytterne parish.

Ekeby is very close to  Munktorp parish.

Then they lived in Munktorp parish from at least 1773, when he was 1 year old.
