Where did Ousamequin die?

I have seen records that suggest Massasoit Ousamrquin Died jn New England North Dakota. Is this false info?

Considering that there is no such place, yes.  Ousamequin (known to Americans as Massasoit) died in what is now Rhode Island.  His grave was desecrated over time but the Wampanoag tribe believes they have retrieved and re-buried his remains.

I wonder where people get this kind of erroneous info and why they think it ok to publish it.
People click on dropdown lists and take whatever comes up. "New England, North Dakota" is an actual place.    "New England, South Dakota, USA" is also choice in Ancestry even though it doesn't exist.

In NORTH DAKOTA?  Must be a typo or a reflection on the lack of teaching geography in American grade schools. Here's the simplest place to check: Massasoit

The directly cited sources are OK. Old, mostly, but includes the National Park Service who have to be accurate. I see Philbrick's The Mayflower (2005) is on recommended list.  Article reads well with a lot of detail which really comes from Philbrick.
