Thank you, yes.
Sarah Greene Tefft died March 16, 1672 - two days after the birth of her son (with Joshua Tefft) Peter.
She is said to be the daughter of Major John Greene II. Her mother, N.N. of the Wampanoag. Or by another account, Anne Greene (born Almy).
However, Sarah's 20 Greene siblings are all listed as half-siblings to her.
She was buried on the Greene family homestead at Occupessatuxet Cove. Warwick, RI.
I am looking to learn Sarah's Wampanoag/Narragansett name and the name of her real mother.
Laurence Overmire has written a biography of Sarah which I intend to find. It may have answers for me.
I'd also like to connect with the present Wampanoags for their take on all this.
Joshua Tefft - my several-times-great-uncle - was drawn and quartered by the Puritan Colonial court for fighting on the side of the Narragansetts when the colonial troops came to take (by force) the land which became Rhode Island - a battle known as the Great Swamp.
Thank you
