Dutch/Curaçao translation help for 1837 record/context

Question

Can someone kindly offer translation and context help for a birth registration record written in Dutch for Elie Propheet from 1837, Curacao, Nederlandse Antillen.  Questions: FamilySearch lists his entry as an immigrant record--was he born elsewhere or were his parents? I see only his mother's name, Maria Martena Alee, was she unmarried?  Is the father's name listed above as Nicholas something or is that a witness? Is there any other historical context to consider? Gijsbertha Nicolaas Sille (midwife), assisted by Carel Frederik Neuman and Johan Pieters Quast declare on July 25, 1837 that Elie Propheet is born in Curacao on July 22, 1837, illegitimate son of Maria Martena Alée, living in Curacao.

It seems Elie got the name Propheet as part of his first name. Propheet is also a surname in the Netherlands and in Curacao, so it could be a clue to a possible father.
