How is the son Robert of Piers De Ros & Adeline Espec matching Robert (son of Godebert) & both m Sibilla De V?

Robert has son Sir Adam Fitzgodebert de la Roche marries Blandiane Marshal. This seems to be Adam’s family who have lands, castles & monasteries in Pembrokeshire & Ireland.  His father Piers, Robert & family also have lands, castles & monasteries in Yorkshire.

Like, John, I am doubting the idea of a connection between Godebert's family and the Yorkshire Roos family, but it is good to see Godebert confirmed. There are references to Complete Peerage on our articles.

I am wondering how modern families are able to trace themselves in the male line to Godebert as Complete Peerage describes the male line dying out.

It would be good to know what records exist for extending this family. With that information we could build the family up further on Wikitree.

I'm not sure where you are seeing that Robert de Ros is the same person as Robert FitzGodebert  They certainly look to be from different families on WikiTree.

Thanks John A, my brother Bernard Roche & I see that the son of Adeline is Robert in Yorkshire or Robert / Rodebert Fitzgodebert in Pembrokeshire.  He marries Sibilla De V & has son/s David, Adam & grandsons who have lands, castles & monasteries in Pembrokeshire & lands & castle / towers in Ireland.  Bernard has rare Y dna of Roche / Roach men, descendants of Robert Fitzgodebert or (de Ros).  The Heritage Llangwm Project Wales have done research & made excellent dvd “The Search for Little Flanders”.K.M.D-R
