Our 1st known male ancestor is Godebert Flandrensis.  His wife is listed as Adeline Espec but she is the wife of Piers De Ros of Yorkshire.  Their son Robert marries Sybella de Valognes (or similar) & seems to go to Wales & Ireland Their children & grand children live in Pembroke & are given lands in Ireland.  The family have castles, lands & monasteries in Yorkshire & Pembrokeshire.  Is Godebert Flandrensis the same person as Piers De Ros?

I think you need to look carefully at your sourcing for a Baldo Flandrensis being husband of Adeline.

If Baldo existed, "Flandrensis" means "of Flanders", and is not a surname in the sense we would understand today. A Baldo of Flanders will not be the same as Piers de Ros who was probably born in Yorkshire, England. Reliable sourcing would be needed for a marriage to any Adeline Espec. Sources indicate that the Adeline with a WikiTree profile married Piers de Ros.

Baldo or Godebert? FWIW Baldo could be a short form of Baderic or Baldwin which were that types of names Flemish people were using in this period.

Either way I agree this will not be the same person as Piers de Ros, and it would be good to understand better who this person is supposed to be the ancestor of so that we can help work out what is really known.
Thanks Michael C & Andrew L, but haven’t heard of Baldo F only Godebert F.  The son of Adeline is Robert a Knight who marries Sibilla De V.  Their son/s including David & Adam & grandsons & families have lands castles & monasteries in Pembrokeshire & are granted lands in Ireland.  My brother Bernard Roche in Australia has rare Y dna of Godebert’s descendants in Wales, Ireland, USA.  K.M.D-R
My mistake for setting the Baldo hare running. Carelessness. I should have said Godebert. Apologies.
M.C,  thank you for your comment etc.  It’s all rather confusing & glad we don’t have to check on Baldo. K.M.D-R
So are you saying that your brother descends in the male line from [[Ros-103]]? Perhaps you can post a few generations?
The Heritage Llangwm Project saw that Bernard R matched Y dna of a Roach man in Llangwm Pembrokeshire Wales.  They had professionals trace the family back to Godebert, his knight son Robert & grandson/s Sir Adam & David etc.  Their dvd “The Search for Little Flanders” tells of family & local history of de la Roche / Roche or Roach families.
