The bot has inserted an incorrect age at death.  How can I change it?

Can you clarify? I.e.: What "bot"? Where are you seeing this?
The VR says he died at age 4.  He has a published baptism date two years before the death date.  Thus, he was born 2 years before he was baptized.

I typed in his birth date as being before his baptism date.

But when I type in the actual death date, the wikitree bot adds in that he was over 1 year old.  I want to say that he was 4 years old.
Hello Gillby.

I assume you are talking about this profile:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Truesdell-634

If VR says he died on Nov. 1775 at age 4, you can enter DOB "about 1771" and see how the profile looks.

Anyway, it's said "Died after age 1", which is also true.
Good idea. But it would be good if there was a way to remove  the "bot" help.
It's not a bot.  It's the system itself.

It sounds like you are talking about the "Died" line in the data fields at the top of a profile. For example:

Died before  before about age 2 in St Pancras, Middlesex, Englandmap

As far as I know that "before about age 2" part is not user editable. It is automatically computed from the birth and death dates.

In your example it is technically correct, he was over 1 year old when he died, and that is all can be deduced from the birth and death dates. In your case you also have a record that says he was 4 years old when he died.

So you have a couple of choices:

  1. Just note the age at death in the biography
  2. Change the birth date field to be "about yyyy" where yyyy is the year that would give him an age of death of 4. The convention is to use "before the baptism date" but only if you have no further information about the birth date. In this case you do.

Thanks. Good idea.
When we think there's an error in a record, it's very appropriate to discuss the error/uncertainty in the profile text (i.e., why you think the record is wrong) and enter an estimate of the actual date in the data field.
