Information that is known is that he was born on October 31 in either 1926 or 1929 to a woman with the last name Beckett at St. Mary's hospital in the Paddington district.  He was married to my grandmother Mary P Murphy also of London.  Cyril grew up an only child and never knew his biological father.  His mother did remarry an Irish man but I do not have his name at this time.

1939 register says he was born on 31st Oct 1928. (original entry says 31st Oct 1922?1927?. Later changed in red to 1928) Living with John and Mary Harrison and two others(names redacted) at  13 Church Street, Buckingham, Buckingham M.B., Buckinghamshire, England.

Thank you so much.  This search has created way more questions than answers.  Does the record you found state any relation to Mary and John?  If possible would you mind sending me a link to the document.  I would appreciate it more than you know.
Unfortunately the 1939 Register doesn't give family relationships.  Given where he was born, there's also a reasonable chance that Cyril was an evacuee at the time the register was compiled - some children went to relatives but many were living with strangers.  The couple he was with were aged around 50 in 1939, and the two redacted records at the same address will be for other children who, from what you say won't be his siblings, as he didn't have any.

Hi Michelle, here's some records I found on Cyril.

1928 Birth registration -  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QV3K-DYVZ

2007 Death registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QV4Z-51WM

There's also a record of him being in the Royal Artillery in the General Service Corps during WW2, in 1947. His service number is 19129224. It's on Ancestry, here's the link for that - https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discoveryui-content/view/192941:61820?tid=&pid=&queryId=74ee021e-1b58-4a3f-8b39-b4baf4cf112d&_phsrc=Khu4037&_phstart=successSource

Seaman record for Cyril, don't know what information it could have, but maybe useful, costs £8.40 to request a copy of the record - https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C8413582

If I find more I'll update this comment, if I can!

1954 he was aboard the Queen Elizabeth as part of the above Royal Artillery leaving Southampton and arriving in New York. The passenger list states he is a 'Trimmer' and missing a fingersad
