I would like advice or may need help creating a new category for the profile of Isaac Jackson. The category might be named something like Prince Edward, Upper Canada.

Could I get help creating the new category? Or is there an existing category to use? Thank you!

Hi Angeline,

I would be happy to assist you with this. At this time, I see that Isacc's profile has only have a source for Elizabeth Johnson's death that lists Isaac's birthplace as Prince Edward County. It would be helpful if had a bit more information before proceeding.

Prince Edward County was created on July 16, 1792.  Shortly after the American Revolution, the Crown made land grants to some of the United Empire Loyalists as they wanted to encourage settlement and pay for property lost.  At this time, the county was composed of three townships named in the honour of three of King George II's daughters, Ameliasburgh, Marysburgh and Sophiasburgh.

All location categories are broken down to the narrowest applicable category.  So a general rule of thumb before adding a location category is to try to find supporting evidence to the actual event (in this case, Isaac's birth) to give you the closest location possible so that you categorize it correctly.

Please do a little more research to try to find a documented source of his birth event or other supporting sources so that you know which township he was born in.  Then I would be happy to help you locate or create the correct category for Isaac so you can add it to his profile.

Happy WikiTreeing!

Jackson is such a big category as I what I have realised.. I am only looking from the ones from the line of

James Hayter Jackson (1800 - 1877) but then his father gets really confused and maybe wrong...
