He appears to be the creation of Knight family genealogists who were attempting to connect the first Knights of Virginia to their own families. The Research Notes describe the possible genesis of this person, a conflation of at least two Peter Knights (who did exist, in two different counties of Virginia), but then ascribed different vital statistics for which there are no sources.
