Help required with adopted grandmother Doris Labdon 1904

Question

Hello looking for help with my grandmother

Doris Labdon who was born 1904 in St Pancras workhouse London Mother was Frances Mary Labdon born 1878 in Devon (possably) who was unmarried and according to family history Doris was the ilagitamate child of a Mr Brown ( possably Browne) of Manchester area who adopted her shortly after her birth, she was brought up in their household and well educated learning Latin, Shakespear and maths and Geography but once Mr Bowne died was sent into service by the stepmother.

We know Mr Brown was married with 2 sons and that is all

I have traced a possable father a Mr Hugil Brown via the 1911 census who was born about 1888 but have no proof this is a definate match and can find no evidence of any line above to continue the search

Any help that you can give is greatly appriciated

There is a Dora Browne in the 1911 census who looks very promising: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWBZ-1XX  

She was born in St Pancras, and listed as the adopted daughter of Thomas Leech Browne and his second wife, alongside their two sons - and the relative ages of the five of them look like a good fit for your family photo.  Cadishead / Irlam is just west of Manchester.

By 1921, it looks like Dora's adoptive father has died, and her adoptive mother (Jessie Edwina (Hinds) Browne) was still in Irlam with her sons.  Jessie's sister and brother-in-law were with them when the census was taken, but not Dora.
