Help editing name of early Swedish profile

This pre-1500 profile has a problematic first name and LNAB. I can't change it as I am not certified, so I hope someone who can could be kind to check it.

If Gräsmyr (the place where he lived) is kept at LNAB, first name needs to be altered to Swedish; "Tomas i". It is plausible he was called "Tomas i Gräsmyr" , but never (English) "Tomas in Gräsmyr".

But, strictly, if he ever was called "Tomas i Gräsmyr"; that is an acquired name and Gräsmyr should not be used as LNAB at all... Even though I can see the point in bending the rules to distinguish him from all other Tomas Unknowns.

Almost no one can or will edit Swedish pre-1500 profiles. I sometimes write comments to those profiles with additional info. I think that's the best you can do, because then it's visible to those who look at the profile.
I would encourage anyone with concerns like these, which are reasonable, to think about going for pre 1500 certification. Even a small number of good editors can help to encourage more, as we have already seen in other parts of Wikitree.
I'm not interested in trying that since the pre-1500 certification has rules that I think are totally wrong for what's needed. I have been thinking about writing a posting about this for a long time, but it has never had high priority enough for me, since I don't think I would accomplish anything with that anyway, but it may happen.

Per, which are the pre-1500 certification rules that are totally wrong for what's needed, in your opinion?

As I wrote I have been thinking about writing a posting about that for a long time. (Don't hold your breath.)
There are lots of legitimate change proposals that could be made, but this is not necessarily relevant. You can also see the certification process as simply what you need to do in order to edit these profiles.

After a quick googling I found no sources, and it really points to the LNAB not being known rather than him being called Gräsmyr.

I dont see the point in bending the rules, really... we have other data fields than the name for a reason. Use them! He also has an approximate year so in no way is he impossible to find again.

How come no one who is authorized to do this simple and obvious needed change is willing to do it?

Are there too few certified users interested in the area? Is the threshold for certifying too high? Are the criterias for being active in pre-1500 profiles in order to keeping the cerificate too low or even non-existing?

A lot of pre-1500 profiles from the Swedish area are a total mess, has several known duplicates and still has not been edited for years.

I have seen very little vandalism, unserious/low quality _editing_ (though low quality when creating profiles) here and can't help getting the impression that the gatekeeping pre-1500 certification system does more harm than good.

It may look like that from a Swedish perspective, Helena, but I think that without the restrictiveness a lot of harm would be done by wishful thinkers with a craving for roots back to medieval European royalty and nobility. The system may not be perfect: It may be a bit too black-and-white and there may be too few certified members working on Swedish profiles - but I still think it is better than having nothing.

Helena I have removed "in" from the first name. That seemed uncontroversial.
