Suggestion 870 Missing named Inline citations

Suggestion 870 Missing named Inline citations seems to enforce a very strict interpretation of mark up, requiring no spaces around the = sign in ref tags.

<ref name="ABCD"> ... </ref>
followed later by
<ref name = "ABCD"/>
generates the suggestion, and removing the spaces around = deals with it, but this seems overly strict as their presence makes no difference to the display of the reference. Whitespace like this is allowed in html tags.

Can you provide an example profile?

As I remember, what you described shouldn't produce a suggestion.

I checked the sources and I had an error in regex definition. Spaces were allowed after the equal sign, but not before.

It is fixed now.

It resulted in changes of suggestions some other suggestions.

  • 969 Duplicated named Inline citations (887 more suggestions)
  • 970 Missing named Inline citations (411 suggestions less)
  • 971 Use of angled double quotes in name of citation (Number is the same, just the info column is more correct)
Changes will be visible next week.
Thanks Joy for finding the example.

Thanks Aleš for the quick response and fixing it!
