Advice before adding of this pre-1700 Weekes profile?

I can add a to the profile of Thomas Weekes. This is who I can add:

  • Elizabeth (Unknown) She was Thomas Weekes'  second wife and is mentioned in his will.  At this point only Ann Cocks, his first wife, is shown on the profile.  Elizabeth and Thomas had several children together, and I would like to add them.  After his death she remarried more than once.  Probate records confirm her position as the wife of Thomas Weekes and their children. Names of children from later marriages are proved in these probate records.

These are the sources I am using:

Photocopies of probate records from 1763, 1775, 1793, 1808 and later.

  •  Ancestry.com. North Carolina, U.S., Wills and Probate Records, 1665-1998 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2015.
Original data: North Carolina County, District and Probate Courts.

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Gloria, I have added a couple of tags to your question. This looks like a good addition to the profile. Have you checked to see if Elizabeth is perhaps already created and attached to one of her other husbands? There might be additional information in Winslow under the names of the other husbands.

As a formatting item, I would simply add the Will as a section under the existing Death and Legacy, perhaps using three single quote marks on either side of Will which will bold it. We generally add Research Notes below all biographical entries and abouve Sources rather than at the top of a profile.

P.S. I see we are 11th cousins. Hello cousin.
