On 18 Feb 2024 Sherry Holston wrote on Holstein-3:

Pretty Sure Catharinas last name is Mansdotter with the oomlate or whatever it is.That would be the correct name. It is fathers first name plus Dotter. Some in the Newworld did take fathers lastname for surname which would be Palsson but how to know? Did his sons use Manson or Palson?

Anyone else following this couple?

If she was Swedish, the name would be Mänsdotter. In Norway or Denmark, it would be Mänsdatter. (Note the spelling of -datter).

Many times, the name is abbreviated to Mänsdr or Mänsdtr, but the spelling may help in searching for records
