Is there any reason he is still attached to John and Dorothy? There doesn't seem to be any evidence that John had a son named Thomas.

I suggest looking at Southwest Virginia Families, Boddie, VA0004, 27. ppgs. 25, 26; also “Overton-Harris-Day” chapter starting on page 341.

Also worth looking at is Turff and Twigg, Vol One, French Lands, page 160 and many more in this book. My book also has the full folded map showing the land allotment and successors.  It says he is English, not French. Further reading will help a great deal.A other source for Thomas, and others, are in “Marriages of Some Virginia Residents, 1607-1800, by Wulfeck.  I think some of those listed are his children’s marriages, too.  I believe these will be helpful in the search.  I want to look at Bacon’s Rebellion also, which I will do.  Let me know if this helps.

I've seen the Boddie text. However, on the profile page it reads, "Claiborne T Smith Jr[3] was unpersuaded by Boddie's arguments and stated that "The only certain [surviving] issue of John and Dorothy Harris was their daughter Dorothy who married John Baker". Smith, however, did speculate that a Thomas Harris who died intestate at Charles City in 1677 (i.e. a different person to the Thomas Harris of Isle of Wight County)... "
