Right now you are at registered as a "Guest."
To edit profiles you need to upgrade your membership to "Family Member" level. (no cost).
That will allow you to edit profiles if you are on that profile's "Trusted List." You have to ask the manager of each profile to add you to the "Trusted List" fo that profile to edit it.
However, once you are at Family Member level, if you sign the "Honor Code" then you have access to edit most profiles. (Certain profiles are protected, such as, the family of any President- you can learn about protected profiles later if you need access to such profiles).
The process to get to edit about any profile:
1) Sign up as a "Guest"
2) Upgrade to "Family Member"
3) Sign the "Honor Code"
And at that point you are free to work on whatever profile you want.
At first, editing may seem overwhelming. Please feel free to ask questions here on G2G. We've all been where you are now and we are willing to make the learning curve easier.
By the way, you have a tough surname to research. I know first hand how hard it is to research Jones. There are a lot of us.
