I'm sure this has been answered, but....  How do I create a link to document found in Ancestry that you can view without a paid membership?

Karen, are you familiar with the WikiTree Sourcer extension? If you use it to construct source citations from Ancestry, it can include the "sharing link" in the source citation along with the link for subscribers.

As Nelda says, it's good to give not only the sharing link but also the link for subscribers. For people with paid Ancestry accounts, the latter takes them directly to the record with one click. If there's an image, it's available at high resolution, unlike the sharing image which is often of very poor quality (unless treated with this trick).

From the record page you are looking at, click the Share icon (the next one under the tool icon). A pop-up will appear with sharing options, and you can click "Copy Link."

Thank you Robert. I found how to copy the link - How then do I paste the link into a profile, so that you can click on the link and view the document?  AND Can you then view the document without having to log in to a paid membership?

Yes an Ancestry Sharing Link can be used by non-subscribers to view a single image (not neighboring pages etc).

Ancestry has been making them less and less convenient over time. See my documentation in the WikiTree Sourcer User Guide here.
