How to disconnect from an ancestor even if it shows I share DNA with others.

I would like to add my Revolutionary War Soldier, John Allen (1739-1827) as the husband of Sarah McDowell and the father of Mary Polly (Allen) Wilson. I believe the current John Taylor Allen (1755-1827 is incorrect for Sarah and Mary Polly. Can I disconnect the incorrect John Allen and add the correct one? I have a 38 page document from a genealogist proving this. How do I do the disconnect?

If you have documentation to show that the father and son have been conflated, please add it to the profile which is not well-sourced currently.  The DNA connections doesn't have anything to do with an actual DNA match, it's just a list of people who, based on the connections they have created here in Wikitree, would be expected to share DNA with the profiled person and perhaps one another.
