I am not convinced that John Thomas Allen Jr. (1755-1827) of Rutherford County NC was the husband of Sarah McDowell. I believe she was married to John Allen Sr. (1739-1827) of Mecklenburg County NC. DAR #A130881.I have researched this with my DAR Registrar and we have come to the conclusion that my theory is correct. She will be contacting the DAR to get it straightened out. It may be months before we hear back from National Daughters of the American Revolution. I will make changes if necessary at that time. If you have questions, please get in touch with me and I can provide our theory. If this is true, I do not know how it shows my DNA connection to this John Taylor Allen Jr. I would like to see the DNA connection to John Allen Sr. (1739-1827)
