Location language changing

When I am creating a new profile sometimes the language for locations changes on its own (to Ukrainian). This has happened on the last few profiles I've created - as family members for somebody who was born and died in England!

I have to manually change the language back to English - it's not a great problem, more an annoyance.

I am using Edge browser with WBE and Sourcer extensions enabled.

Hi Ruth. A couple of questions to try to elucidate the issue.

Do you have the WBE Language Setting turned on?

Can you think of any context that might be relevant where profiles you're involved with are in some way Ukrainian?

Hello Jim

WBE Language Setting is not turned on. WBE Location Helper was turned on, but as it only (seems to) apply to USA locations I've turned it off.

I've never had any locations is Ukraine.

Thanks Ruth. This seems to exonerate WBE, but I can't think of anything else that could be causing it, so it may be worth editing your question and adding the tags

As Jim has said, if the Language Setting feature of WBE is not enabled, it won't cause this.

Just to clear one thing up though, the Locations Helper is not only for American things.  It does a variety of things, but one thing is that it gets the locations of the new person's family members and if it finds a match in the location suggestions, it will promote it to the top of the list and highlight it in green.  If there are locations on the list which don't match the date that you have in the form, it will relegate those to the bottom and highlight them in pink/red (e.g. if one of the options is "..., United Kingdom" but your date is pre-1801, that location will be relegated to the bottom of the list).

The 'Correct Location' option is correcting a variety of locations that are given on the list (these are mostly things that people have asked me to correct) and adding some, too.

I don't know what could be changing your language option to Ukrainian.
Thanks Jim and Ian

I had noticed that feature (highlighting locations) had disappeared, so switched Locations Helper back on.

I'll edit the original post to add that tag. It's not a major issue, and it only seems to be occurring with one location (Hull, Yorkshire, ...) Once I type "Hul" it comes up with locations in the Cyrillic alphabet - but only sometimes.

As Alice said (in Wonderland), "Curiouser and curiouser"
