Do you have ancestors who participated in the American Revolutionary War?  Do you have an interest in the historical aspects of this war?  If so, we are looking for new members to join.

Project recognition (and Wikitree member participation) is not limited to the soldiers and civilians who fought for American independence - this project recognizes service from all nationalities including British, French, Spanish, Native American, and others.

Hello! I would like to join the 1776 Project. Please advise on which would be the best team to join. I'm a retired librarian, I've been doing genealogical research for over 10 years, I am a DAR member and have prepared and submitted over 50 lineage applications (34 approved, so far).

With your experience submitting all the lineage apps through DAR and your training, I think Research would be the best team to join. I'm also a DAR member and currently serving as the registrar for the chapter.

Not trying to push you but that team is also looking for a team leader if you might be interested in taking the position.  Let me know what you would like to do.

I'd be happy to join the research team. Put me there! As team leader, I'd only be answering questions related to research, correct? I'm not proficient yet working on WikiTree, as I've only been active for a couple of weeks. But if I only need to help people track down patriots with reliable sources (i.e. DAR level of acceptance), then I'd be okay with that. :)

I descend from John Henry Rightmyer who came from Baden in southwestern Germany to Reading, PA, in 1743.  He  is said to have served as a Berks County Commissioner 1770-73 and took the 1778 Oath of Allegiance to the Commonwealth which qualifies him as a SAR Recognized Patriot. His son Adam's father-in-law Abraham Levan served in the PA Militia.  I serve as Chaplain of the Blue Ridge Chapter NCSAR and for a time was Registrar for the NC Huguenot Society. I'd be happy to help with the American Revolution project as we approach the 250th anniversary of the Revolution.

My family came to Berks county from Hesse, Germany in 1723. My 4th gr grandfather was Daniel Leinbach, Captain in Revolutionary War. Daniel served in the 7th Co. 5th Bat, as a Lieutenant in 1777 and as Captain in 1780. He was elected County Commissioner of Berks County in 1786, Berks County Judge of Elections in 1787 and Berks County representative to the Pennsylvania State Assembly in 1790. According to Montgomery's 1909 Historical & Biographical Annals of Berks Co. (1909), at the end of his term in Philadelphia, Daniel purchased for $5 the chair he had occupied during the proceedings.

I would like to join 1776 Project. I am a member of the Brier Creek, Georgia Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. 

Lowe-6639 (Cortland Lowe Jr.) has 27 direct ancestors who meet the American Revolution list criteria and many more uncles and cousins that have the American Revolution stickers.

I am not sure which team I should join but will be glad to help wherever I can.

My ancestors were mainly "Tories" or as we can call them in Canada "Loyalists" however I have a branch of my family who were sympathetic to the American cause and who likely participated in the Eddy Rebellion (Attack on Fort Cumberland) in sympathy to the American Revolution.  I would love to join the project and contribute where I can.

Hello, I am a member of DAR with one Patriot.  I researched a different one and proved it for my sis to join DAR.  I just traced a female Patriot so my niece could join DAR.  I still have a few more Patriots I have not researched yet.  

I am also a member of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and think I could have more ancestors here in the US Colonies before 1701.

I am also responding to the England Project as many of my early ancestors here in the Colonies were from England.

Yes, I would like to join the 1776 Project.  I am a SAR member through my direct ancestor, Matthias Horn who joined the Virginia Militia at the Holston River under Captain Riddle in April 1778.  He served at least 3 years including under the command of George Rogers Clark while at Fort Boonesborough.  I tried to get SAR supplementals for his father Aaron Horn, Sr. and his mother Elizabeth.  Thank you for the consideration and let me know what project might be best.   Allen Horn
