profile page background

Did something change on profile page backgrounds?  Now all my pages are completely gray with no borders either.  I didn't change any settings recently.  This is much harder to read.

If a setting is needed, can you tell me how to go back to the way it was?

The only part that is white is the categories section (which I opted to see on the public profile).

I just looked at this page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Blanchard-481 you recently made a change to and it looks "normal" to me/

Hi Cindy. Could you please let us know whether you are using any browser extensions, for example the WikiTree Browser Extension? If you are, that could have something to do with it what you are observing. Also, what kind of computer, tablet or phone is this, and what browser?

I use WikiTree Browser Extension. Version 1.12.2, set for automatic updates.  Firefox browser.  Using a Mac Air laptop.

So I went to my Mac mini and everything is normal.

How should I troubleshoot this?

Edited to add WBE extension and correct that Firefox is not Safari :)

Cindy, you might try reading through this section:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension#Style

Perhaps in the WBE you accidentally have custom style or dark mode turned on.

I never have used custom settings, but I turned it on and clicked reset all and toggled it off.  No improvement in either profiles or space pages.  Also turned Dark Mode on and then off.  Still no change.  My pages are all grey with no border.  Only the category background is white.

Should I go to back to the custom setting to try setting the background color to white?  I managed to get the Headers background to white, but could not get the whole page back to white or get the outline back.

I also compared the laptop settings (the problem) with the mac mini settings (works fine) and they are exactly the same.

I have old eyes and grey is very difficult to use.  Any other suggestions?
Sorry Cindy, I'm pretty much stumped. It doesn't seem that WBE is the culprit. Maybe look in Firefox settings to see if there is something about page background or theme?
So I've experimented a little more.  WikiTree works correctly on my laptop with Safari.  So you are on the right track about Firefox (even though it works perfectly fine on my other computer and my phone).  I have very little set on Firefox, the setting for Appearance is automatic, and for colors is never to override the colors specified by the webpage.  All others seems to be working fine.

I might have to switch to Safari, which is not my preference.
It's drastic, but maybe you could try deleting and reinstalling Firefox from scratch.
Have you tried viewing the website in private mode, or with all extensions disabled in Firefox?
It did not get better in Private Mode, but thanks for the suggestion.  However I did remove some of my extensions.  The WT Sourcer extension seems to be the one causing the problem because everything is working now!  I'm not adding it back because I don't really use it.  I did add back my others and everything still fine on profiles.  Thank you for that idea!

I really appreciate, Jim, that you worked through this with me, and Jamie for the solution.  I'm always grateful to have the help of fellow WikiTreers!
Jim, oops now it's doing it again.  Totally gray background on every page.  No white for the body of the profile and no borders.  This time, though, I don't have the Sourcer extension to delete.  I recently did delete all my cookies so I wonder if there is a setting somewhere that needs to be fixed.  I'm stumped again.  Firefox on a macbook air.

Hi Cindy. Could you make a screenshot and post it here, or at least upload it to Melanie's Images4G2G page using this link?

Hi, Jim, somehow it resolved itself.  Thank you for being willing to take a look :)

My backgrounds are still there (I just looked).  I think this is what Chris W meant when he said that things might get a little uncomfortable while they do a redesign.

Surely the redesign would not happen piecemeal and without further announcement.

Right, this bug is unrelated to the redesign.
