Do you like sharing WikiTree love? Join the Ambassadors Project! (Jan 2024)

Question

Hi WikiTreers!

We're on a mission to increase WikiTree's presence on the internet and in person!  (See an explanation of why in Chris' post here.)

WikiTree pledged to stay 100% free, so we need to keep costs low. Since we don't have a big ad budget, our community depends on word of mouth. We grow when our members tell other genealogists, their families, and friends what we do.

Ambassadors are some of our awesome volunteers who are active on various forums, social media channels, and/or bloggers who are dedicated to helping share the WikiTree love.

If you signed the Honor Code, are active in forums, social media, or blogging, and have been a WikiTree member for at least one month, post an "answer" below and we'll get you started in the project!

Please let me join Ambassadors. I have been sharing on WikiTree with cousins on Facebook, adding notes when I leave flowers on Find-A-Grave that helps them find their way to WikiTree profiles. Link Builders and Social Media.

Hi there! Would love to join the Ambassadors project. I've been spending quite a bit of time setting up my family tree and getting my family members to hop on board the WikiTree train too. I can definitely spread the word more on social media as well as word of mouth (Link Builders/ Social Media.).

I have a couple of SM sites I participate in. I have already uploaded an image of my WT Home Page to a group I am in & mentioned WT several times. I might be small, but I'm mighty! I'd like to be in Social Media please.

I just started a YouTube channel where I plan to share my genealogy knowledge. Since WikiTree is my favorite free site, I plan to focus on that and will give tutorials on how to best use WikiTree.

I'm currently building out my first month of posts and will be filming soon.
