Reliability of Connections

I have been trying to look at possible ancestral connections to my tree using the Connections feature on Wikitree.  In particular, to find my possible Native American ancestors.  How reliable (proven) are those family relations coming down lines to my known family and me?  Sometimes there are differences between parents that I have on my tree and what are listed on the Connections lineages.

They are only as reliable as the sources used on each profile.

If/when you see something that is not what you believe to be true, you should look at the profile in question and at the sources used.

Your next step is to determine the validity of the source and compare it to your sources.
Connections are not to your ancestors, they are relatives by marriage or through siblings.   The relationship finder shows people who are actually your blood relatives.  Both finders are only as good as the documentation for the relationship or connection.
Both Kristina and Kathie could have also mentioned that each link is marked as certain or uncertain by the editor of the profile and these show up on the list, so at least you can see if someone thinks that the links are certain or not.
Thank you for responding to my question.  Your suggestions are very helpful and apprecitated.  Cheers, Lea
