Would anyone be interested in helping to start a project documenting ancestors who moved from the Southern Appalachians (mostly Western North Carolina) to the Cascades (especially Skagit and Snohomish Counties, Washington) during the early to mid-20th century, primarily for timber production?
Here's a pertinent blog post discussing the migration: Migration: From Southern Appalachians to Northern Cascades
Many of my Anderson, Dills, and other cousins from, for example, Cartoogechaye, Macon Co., NC, moved there during that time frame, and I thought it would be nice to have an official project to document the migration and maybe to help genealogists bridge the distance between these two areas, research-wise.
(The linked profile is a cousin I just started researching who followed this migratory path.)
I looked through the projects and couldn't find one specifically devoted to this migration, but I think it might fall under the broader Westward Ho project and possibly the Appalachia project.
Also, I've never started a project before and have no idea how to do that or manage one. I'm not even sure if one is really needed! So, anyone who's interested or has an opinion or advice, please speak up!
