Error in consistency checks

I cannot understand what triggers the following warning and suspect that there is a bug in the consistency checks:

Warning: Check the data. A father's death date (Plebst-24 died 1578) should not be more than nine months before one of his children's birth dates (Plebst-30 born 29 Aug 1578) .

You have the Death date as About, change father death date 1578 and mark it as after this date.

I changed the death date to "after August 1578", which suppresses the error message, but, as a trained mathematician, I am still not quite satisfied with the original message. "About 1578", especially if it is rendered affirmatively as "died 1578", is not "more than nine months before [...] 29 Aug 1578".
