Do some sites conflate Magloire Nollet b. 1824 with his uncle b. 1806?

I find Nos Origines invaluable, but I know it has its limits, and occasionally it gets things wrong.

The first Magloire Nollet it knows about was born in Sainte-Marie in 1824. It then goes on to link this birth with a marriage in 1843 to Adélaïde Bégin when he was a mere 19 years old (although called an adult in the record) and Adélaïde was 25.

Nos Origines doesn't know about Magloire Nollet born in Sainte-Marie in 1806 to Jean Marie Nollet and Marie (Elisabeth) Marcoux. He was a younger brother of Jean Baptiste Nollet, the father of 1824 Magloire.

I think 1806 Magloire is the person who married Adélaïde Bégin in 1843. I think 1824 Magloire married Elizabeth Johnson at Notre-Dame-de-Québec in 1850. There is more information in the Notes on the linked profile.

Addendum: I had not realized until now that one more document supports my hypothesis: the 1861 census. If this person were 1824 Magloire, the age would be wildly off. Feeling more confident.

Nos Origines is a tree site, with variable due diligence and sourcing, so always always double-check before following them.

Magloire Nollet, son of ''Joseph'' Nollet and of Marie Marcoux, married Adélaïde Bégin, daughter of Jean Baptiste Bégin and of Véronique Paradis, on 14 November 1843 in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce.  Both are listed as of age, which is minimum 21 at the time.  Mariage, image Drouin IGD (membership)

There are 2 couples named Jean Nolet / Nollet - Marie Marcoux.

The first is Jean Marie Nolet married with Marie Élisabeth Marcoux in 1786.  She is only called Marie Élisabeth on the first 2 records in their marriage, after that only Marie, except once Marie Isabelle.

The second is Jean Baptiste Nolet married with Marie Claire Marcoux in 1814.  She gets called Marie Claire on records, consistently.

Jean Marie Nolet died in 1840 at ''83'', the record lists him under Joseph and names his wife Catherine.  (No other such couple exists).  Records subsequent to his death, including 2 marriages of his children and his wife Marie's funeral in 1843, name him Joseph.  Who knows why?  But this is definitely the first couple.

So yes, the Magloire linked is the wrong guy, simplest way to correct is to attach him to the correct parents, that way spouse and children don't need changing.

Merci! The evidence was telling me the same thing, but I wanted at least one experienced person to tell me that I didn't have it all wrong.
