He was a merchant married to Amalie nee Altman. She had a brother Max who was a successful physician who helped introduce smallpox innoculations with Dr. Jenner. She had other Michaelson relatives, Clara a pianist, Hedwig and Anna who were both art historians, and Grete who was an author under the psuedonym Ernest Gregory (Die Berliner Range). Bernhard had 3 children Martha, Clara and Albert my grandfather. He disappeared in 1859 and was never found. Until then he worked with shipping agents Richard Boas & co, later transfering to London as their agent for some 10 years, then onto Barcelona, Bordeaux, and finally Belgrade where he achieved some considerable success. Bernhard had a brother Louis who in turn had 3 sons, Richard, Emil and Ludwig who all worked in the Hamburg-Amerika line. Emil later headed the company in New York where with wife Harriett they had son Herbert who in turn had 2 children before he died in action in WW1. Albert meanwhile married Clara nee Huldschinsky b,1873, a successful steelmill family from Gleiwitz. My great grandfather Siegfried Huldschinsky came from Oels in upper Silesia b,1832, d,in Glewitz 1920. He married Bertha nee Ring who in turn came from a huge family with 21 siblings, so somwhere there is a huge family network on my maternal family side. Does anyone have knowledge regarding these families please?
