Looking for relationship between John Earl Kennedy born in Pamplico, South Carolina 24 Feb 1924 and William Reginald Kennedy also born in Pamplico, South Carolina born in 1909

Good evening, I searched for clues on Familysearch and came to the conclusion that they're either distant relatives or unrelated. I found for J. E. Kennedy an obituary on this link https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QV5V-X9HY?cid=fs_copy

While for J. R. Kennedy I found an obituary, a census record and a marriage authorization. Here's the links

Looking at them I didn't find any close relation between the two and J. R. Kennedy is recorded as born in Florence, South Carolina and not in Pamplico.

I got the the obit for JEK from his daughter, who has been a long time best friend of mine.  We think we may be cousins.  My husband has been doing the research and we found the info on FamilyTree.  According the the book "Hymansville" by Phillip Hyman, these Kennedy's were born in or around Pamplico, Hyman, and Timmonsville SC.
