hi Barrie, There is a Leonard 'Shallick' George 1878-? on Wikitree (George-10901) son of Charles George and Emma Shallish, in Somerset. Not much there for research. I found Leonard at FamilySearch, 9th of 12 kids, with an 1881 census record and baptism record. I added the census and a link for the FamilySearch page in Leonard's Wikitree profile.
Death date shows 1900, not 1910...there is a findagrave for him in Weston-super-Mare, which seems to be the same location as census and baptism. There should be a 1891 census for him, a quick look didn't find anything... oops, nope, found him via dad Charles at UK archives ...added source to his wikitree page...living at home age 13, a scholar. If Leonard died in 1900 then that's before the 1901 census.
There may be apprenticeship or other work records to be found; His dad Charles was a bootmaker so maybe he found work in that area, or maybe was working with another family member, I've seen that often. Ok, so the 1901 census for Charles George shows two sons are shoemaker apprentices, mom and sisters are dressmakers, good chance Leonard was in the family business too.
Hope this helps. If you want help using Wikitree or FamilySearch just send a message and we can try work through things.
