Where is Oakwood Cemetery in Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, Canada?

Johann Michael Schmitt was buried in Oakwood Cemetery according to his son Johann Thomas, as recorded in the family bible, now known as the Schmitt-Heckman-Burgess bible. This bible contains 23 pages of 18th century German script, of which this entry was written by Thomas upon the death of his father.

Does anyone know if Oakwood Cemetery was an earlier name for Five Houses Cemetery, if it was located closer to Oakland or Clearland in Mahone Bay or is it located elsewhere?

Thank you.

I do not have an answer to your question, and the online page of the cemetery section at the Nova Scotia Archives (https://archives.novascotia.ca/cemeteries/) leaves much to be desired.

I have a long-held plan to check out the archives personally (I do have relatives in Hillcrest cemetery in Lunenburg). If you are not located in Nova Scotia, I can make inquiries on your behalf.

Thank you Gus; I may take you up on your offer becuase I live on the west coast. If you have relatives buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lunenburg, there is a very good chance we're related

Well, Find A Grave has him buried in Five Houses Cemetery in Lunenburg.  Not sure if the cemetery name was changed or what ??  Anyway, here 'tis:

Further, after a bit of a search:

Which is in Virginia ???

Good luck!

Thank you Bob; As always, more research required!
Following up on this, I'd probably categorize him in Five Houses Cemetery, and just make a note on the cemetery category page that Five Houses may have once been called Oakwood Cemetery. That way, if more people pop up with the same confusing cemetery suggestions, there will be a single place to collect them all.
Thank you Brad; I will follow your suggestion.

I may have found an answer to my own question: It appears that Oakwood Cemetery is in Mahone Bay, originally known as Mush-a-Mush.

According to Kenneth Farwell Burgess's Colonists of New England and Nova Scotia: Burgess and Heckman Families, Johann Michael Schmidt (Schmidt-15340) "died on June 9, 1798.........and was buried on June 11th at Mush a Mush."

J. Michael Schmitt's son J. Thomas Schmitt recorded that his father was buried on June 11th at Oakwood Cemetery. Link to this book in Schmidt-15340 profile, pages 112 and 114.

In the same book, page 104, J. Michael Schmitt records that his son's brother-in-law Christian Ernst lives in Oakwood.

Many others were recorded as buried at Mush-a-Mush and Oakwood so Bayview Cemetery in Mahone Bay may have originally been known by another name.
