Finding others on my person profile's Trusted List

Question

From time to time with no notification I am finding others on the Trusted List of my personal profile. Just recently I removed about 5 people. How does this happen? Is it preventable?

When it has happened to me, it has been after I made a request to be added to the Trusted List of a profile to make a brief edit. When the manager of that profile accepted my request, the system added the profile manager to the trusted list of my person profile. I no longer make TL requests because of this.

There may be other situations that cause this to happen.

WOW, I did not know that this happened. I just removed several people who were on the trusted list that did not need to be there. THANK YOU

The wording of the answer on that link, seems to be saying that they will no longer add the person to our Trusted List, which is that long list of profiles that we are the PM of or are on the trusted list of, but does not say that they have solved how to stop a person from being added to the TL of our personal profile, when we did not add them ourselves. That is the more serious problem, giving them access to edit our personal profiles.

That long list of profiles is not our Trusted List, but our Watchlist.

Ah - watchlist - wrong word, but that is even more troubling, that it was ever an intentional policy to add people to the TL of our profiles, just because we interacted with them.  I figured it had to be some crazy flaw in the system. Wonder how many people have not looked at their profile TL and unknowingly have a bunch of folks they do not know, who can edit their profiles.

On October 17 Jamie Nelson said:

As a result of this I looked at my personal trusted list and realised that some people who I had invited to join WT were on my Trusted List. 

What a scary thought that others could have edited my profile!

I have removed them.
